Recently, discussions about sunifiram are heated on the Internet, if you want to know what exactly Sunifiram is and what functions it has,let koffeepharm tell you.
Sunifiram, also known as DM-235 is a piperazine derived Piracetam, although it is no longer belongs to Racetam class of drugs because of destroying the pyrrolidone backbone.
Sunifiram
is usually considered to be similar to Nefiracetam in mechanism of action,
which means sunifiram possesses anti-amnesiac properties and is potentially a
cognitive enhancer.
Its anti-amnesiac activity is several orders of magnitude greater than piracetam on a per weight basis, and preliminary evidence suggests it has a similarly low toxicity profile.
Conducting most of its actions through the AMPA receptor,Sunifiram is known as an AMPAkine as well. This enhancement of AMPA function appears to also depend on strengthening signalling via the Glycine binding site of NMDA receptors, although one minimal signalling goes through the NMDA receptor then the benefits on AMPA receptors seem dose-dependent.
Since trials and information about Sunifiram is still limited yet, to determine an optimal dose for sunifiram is not easy. However, expert Sophia at Koffee Pharm Co.,Ltd found 1mg/kg had been determined to be good for both mice and rats, this gives a preliminary human dose of 0.08-0.16mg/kg (for a 150lb person, 5.4-11mg).What`s more, it is not clear if higher doses are better.
