N-Methyl-D-aspartic acid(NMDA)
Hello, everyone! I’m Kevin, from Koffee Pharm Co.Ltd. On behalf of our company, today I would like to share something about a nootropic smart drug— N-Methyl-D-aspartic acid(NMDA). As an effectively nootropic dug, NMDA is increasingly becoming popular in recent years. If you have a great passion, please follow me to learn more information about it.
What is NMDA?
NMDA is an unfortunate acronym for N-methyl-D-aspartate, and this amino acid derivative is very similar to glutamate. Now glutamate is the excitatory neurotransmitter found in most synapses of the central nervous system, and pharmacologists made this analogue called NMDA to activate a sub-type of glutamate receptors. You can distinguish between them pharmacologically with different drugs, and NMDA is one of those drugs since there are multiple glutamate receptors,.So Koffee Pharm Co.Ltd strongly recommend the NMDA. In order to prove my recommendation, I will introduce its effect at follows.
The effects of NMDA
The effects of NMDA and bicuculline on auditory response properties of the inferior collicular neurons were examined in 2 and 4 weeks old and adult bats,Myotis chinensis.Iontophoretic application of NMDA resulted in enhancement of auditory reponses of 96%,95%,96% neurons in the central nucleus of inferior colliculus(ICc) in 3 groups respectively. These excitory effects partly correlated with increasing of age in weeks. The effects of NMDA on reducing response threshold and increasing discharge rate were enhanced within 4 postnatal weeks;Iontophoretic application of bicuculline, an antagonist of GABAA receptor, also resulted in enhancement of auditory response. The facilitatory effect of bicuculline on reducing response threshold, increasing discharge rate and reducing Q10-dB value were keeping enhanced till adult. The different development trends between the effects of NMDA and bicuculline suggest that the postnatal development course of NMDA receptor and GABAA receptor in ICc may be different.
